It has been mis-er-a-bly hot in the upper midwest for a whole week now. Everyone's tired of it! So I decided to showcase a fall card today, hoping to provoke some cool weather thoughts. This is a super quick card I made several months ago.
There were some spools of thread on my work table, waiting to be sorted and put away with other sewing supplies. The thread was my mother's first, and it's getting on in age (let's hope thread doesn't come with an expiration date!) The spools are made of wood, not plastic. I wondered if a spool could be used to stamp a background design on a piece of cardstock. I inked one up and voila! It worked great! If you have any wooden spools around the house, you might enjoy trying this yourself.
Meanwhile, I hope you're not too hot. We've got lots of summertime left!
